親愛的匯點人，

相信你們都知道程國儀牧師已接受神的呼召，提出離開教會的要求。我們都會很想念他和他的家人，但我們知道他服侍的對象是全能的主基督，並不是匯點。神的計劃肯定比人的計劃好，甚至超出了我們的理解。求神祝福他們，靠主的能力讓他領導和祝福基督之家第一家(Menlo Park)！教牧同工與Trustee在傍晚開會，決定了程牧師和家人的歡送會，時間是9月27日下午2:00-3:30pm，請預留時間出席。

我們邀請了曾思瀚博士在9/18-19在匯點教會舉行一個聖經啟示錄研習會，是用廣東話的。環球聖經公會將會在10月份舉辦同一個研習會，是用普通話的。因此，我們不打算安排翻譯。我鼓勵你記下這個日子，並計劃參加研習會。

我們接觸了80多個新的DeAnza和Foothill學院的學生。我們將開始邀請他們在這個星期五和星期日到教會。如果你能幫助當司機接送學生，請聯絡潘智翔傳道Pastor Justin。

祈禱事項：

1. 為上週六大專組的BBQ外展活動感謝讚美主，因為有機會接觸到很多的新學生。求主使大專組能夠找到足夠的幫手跟進這些學生，並能邀請他們來參加教會的活動。請為潘傳道、大專組教練和核心同工隊代禱，求主使他們有智慧和力量去關心這些新學生。求神看顧保守那些在長週末去旅遊的人。
2. 請為程牧師和家人代禱，他們將於十月去基督之家第一家(Menlo Park)開始事奉。求主預備他們的身，心，靈去面對帶領牧養國語教會的新挑戰。
3. 請為明年度職員提名委員會代禱，他們正在努力組織新一年的事奉團隊。求神呼召合適的人在合適的崗位事奉。
4. 請為教牧同工們代禱，他們將在九月二十一至二十三號有一個籌劃事工的退修會。求神使他們能夠清楚了解匯點教會目前的狀況以至於他們能夠更好的籌劃未來的事工方向。
5. 求主使我們能夠利用這個假期好好休息，使我們的身，心，靈都能得到更新並能更好的去服事我們周圍的人。

Dear basic

By this time, all of you should know about Pastor Ching’s leaving for a divine calling from our Lord. We will definitely miss him and his family but we know he is serving the Lord Almighty, not Crosspoint. The providential plan certainly is better than ours and sometimes beyond our understanding. Let’s bless them and pray that our Lord would use him to lead and bless Church of Christ, Menlo Park in a mighty way! The pastoral staff would propose a farewell party for the Ching’s family on Sunday, 9/27. We will share the details with you after the Trustee’s meeting this evening. In the mean time, please set aside the date for the purpose.

We have invited Dr. Sam Tsang to conduct a Cantonese Bible Conference on Revelation at Crosspoint beginning on 9/18-19. Trans-World Bible Society will organize the same conference in Mandarin in October. Therefore, we don’t plan to have translation at our church this time. May I encourage you to jot down the date in your calendar and plan to attend the conference.

We made over 80 contacts to new students at Foothills and De Anza College. We will begin to invite them to church this Friday and Sunday. If you can help out as drivers to pick up and drop off the students, please contact Pastor Justin for information.

Prayer requests:

1. Praise and thank God for a large turn-out of college students at our BBQ picnic last Sat.! Let’s pray that we would be able to recruit enough helpers to follow up with them inviting to other church activities. Pray for Pastor Justin, his coaches and core members that they would have wisdom and strength from the Lord in caring these new students.
2. Pray for Pastor Ching and his family as they are preparing to start a new ministry at Church of Christ, Menlo Park. Pray that God will prepare their heart, soul and body for the new challenge in serving the solely Mandarin speaking congregation.
3. Pray for the Nomination Committee as they are working diligently on forming various ministry teams for the coming year. Pray that God would do His part in calling the right people to the right positions.
4. Pray for the pastoral staff as they will have a planning retreat on 9/21-23. Pray that they would be able to evaluate the current status and change of Crosspoint before the retreat so that they could well utilize the time to make plan for our future ministry.
5. Pray for God’s protection to those who would be traveling during the long weekend. Pray that we would take advantage of the long weekend to rest and refresh our body and soul, or use it to minister  to someone around us!
