Dear Crosspoint basic

We had our first “welcome reception” of the year last Sunday and it was a very encouraging gathering. A couple shared with us that they visited the farmer’s market behind our previous church site one Sunday a few months back. He saw our church sign and noticed that we’d moved to a new location. They began to attend our church regularly and both of them are not Christians.

A lady came with her husband who has many questions (a seeker) sitting at my table for lunch. She told me that she heard me preached one Sunday about praying in specifics and she was looking for a job. Therefore, she prayed for a specific job and asked for one which would be closed to her home. She got an offer in 2 weeks and she was amazed on God’s goodness.

Then, a 2nd time visitor shared with us that she was struggling whether she should stay for the welcome reception. She knew nobody and felt a kind of weird to do so. She had gone to her car and was coming back inside to use our rest room. She was talking to herself: if someone stopped her on her way and invited her, she would stay for the reception. Then, she was stopped by me in front of the lady’s room. I invited her to stay for the reception and she was amazed by God’s work.

Folks, God has been working His wonders at Crosspoint through various means and methods. One thing, however, is obvious! He is working His wonders through His children! The moving sign we designed, the sermons we delivered and a warm welcome that everyone could do. All these efforts could help bringing people to Christ! Therefore, don’t belittle yourself or look down your small effort to welcome and encourage people. God can use you as well!

Prayer requests:

  1. Praise and thank God for working through us to share His love and show His grace to people surrounding us. Pray that we could indeed become a blessings to someone.
  2. Praise and thank God that we’ve already had 37 people signed up to receive “Little Paul” training. Pray that God will continue to work and put a desire in our heart for building a healthy Christian lifestyle.
  3. Pray for the Mandarin Chinese New Year celebration on Sat., 2/13 that we would be able to invite some new friends to attend the special gathering. Pray also for follow up activities that would make them feel comfortable to develop a meaningful friendship with us.
  4. Pray for our small group coaches that they would learn how to care and support our small group leaders and help them build a healthy and vibrant small group.
  5. Pray for those who have accepted Christ at Crosspoint recently that they would be willing to demonstrate their faith in Christ through the act of baptism.
